VLOOKUP
Looks for a value in the first column of a range and returns a value from a column you specify in the same row.
Compatibility: All Excel versions
Syntax
=VLOOKUP(lookup_value, table_array, col_index_num, [range_lookup])
Example
=VLOOKUP(A2,E:F,2,FALSE)
When to Use It
Use VLOOKUP for simple left-to-right lookups — for example, looking up a product price from a product ID in another table. Widely supported, including in older Excel versions and files shared with others.
