MATCH
Returns the position of a value within a range, rather than the value itself.
Compatibility: All Excel versions
Syntax
=MATCH(lookup_value, lookup_array, [match_type])
Example
=MATCH("Total",A1:A10,0)
When to Use It
Use MATCH to find where something is located, often combined with INDEX to then retrieve a related value from that position.
