Information
ISBLANK
Returns TRUE if a cell is completely empty, and FALSE otherwise.
Compatibility: All Excel versions
Syntax
=ISBLANK(value)
Example
=ISBLANK(A1)
When to Use It
Use ISBLANK to check whether a cell has genuinely nothing in it, which is useful before running a calculation that would otherwise error out on an empty cell.
