COUNT
Counts how many cells in a range contain a number, ignoring text and blank cells.
Compatibility: All Excel versions
Syntax
=COUNT(value1, [value2], ...)
Example
=COUNT(A1:A20)
When to Use It
Use COUNT when you specifically need to know how many numeric entries exist in a range — e.g. how many students actually received a numeric grade.
